Gripping intellectually. On the other hand, honest comment: I do not think the author got to really experience Christianity as it is. There's an element to Christianity that is not communitarian and anthropocentric but personal and theocentric, which is actually the cornerstone of true Christianity. However hard one tries, one can Never (as in Never) find it outside Catholicism. Some Catholics never get to experience it, but not because it doesn't exist. Traditional Catholics get more out of religion in that respect by merely assisting at a Tridentine Liturgy. I do not really think it's common experience, but it strengthens the faith and is more than intellectually gripping.

My thesis as a Catholic is that what you were given in Evangelical "Christianity" was not faith. It's Christian to believe that Jesus Christ entered human history, born and died, rose again. However if you do not believe the entire deposit of faith which only the Catholic Church possess in full, then even the resurrection should you believe it, is reduced to an opinion you have chosen to hold. Now of course I am glad you have delved into understanding science. However, science is not value free and many people are deceived by the objectivity myth. In other words, evolution for example is just hypothesis which can be used in justifying atheism. In fact, some Christians have also accepted it and attempt theistic evolution (such as the Thomistic version of theistic evolution) just to bolster their personal adherence to Christianity. As for Zionism, it is a political system that Christianity in its originality did not invent. The Zionists link themselves to the elite class such as the Pharisees of the early modern history and it is these elite that first persecuted Christianity. I sympathise with you precisely because what you experienced wasn't Christianity in its purity and true form. I appreciate your rejection of Evangelical "Christianity" but this doesn't equal to rejection of Christianity. I agree with you that you are going through a deconstruction, but not of Christianity really. Only Catholic Christianity offers what can be called in the true sense "Christianity" as it was founded by Jesus Christ.

Jesus PROPHETICALLY described Christian Nationalism a long time ago: "Some who say that they are of me are not of me." (Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23) Jesus had directed his followers long ago to manifest this behaviour toward those who they consider to be their enemies: "Love your enemies. Bless those who curse you. Reward those who steal from you." (Jesus in Matthew 5:44) Those who attack others in The Name of Jesus are far from being True Christians. They will (Allah Willing) be taken to task by Jesus Himself in The Afterlife. Amen?
